Next awareness-raising event dedicated to the right of access to information was organized in the Garadagh District of Baku

Next awareness-raising event dedicated to the protection of the right of access to information was organized by the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan in the Garadagh District of Baku.  

The representatives of the district executive authority, law-enforcement agencies, educational, health, and culture departments within the executive authority, municipalities, and other information-holding state bodies took part at the event.

The Head of the Department for Protection of the Right to Information at the Ombudsman Office, Lamiya Zeynalova, and other staff members of the respective department gave information to the participants about the Ombudsman’s mandate regarding monitoring of the implementation of the national Law on Access to Information. Furthermore, it was also brought to the attention the existing international and national legal frameworks in the relevant field.  

Then, a PPT presentation on the topic was shown, a broad discussion around this topic was held, and the questions of the participants were answered.
