Five children and one woman, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who have been held in camps in Syria, were repatriated to the country on June 4, 2024.
The Ombudsman’s representatives met with those repatriates, placed in the social service institution of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population. They have familiarized themselves with the social services provided to them on site and investigated the state of ensuring their rights.
During the meeting with the repatriates, their social and psychological condition was assessed, their problems and needs were identified, and recommendations regarding the protection of their rights were provided.
The Ombudsman's representatives were informed by the institution's head and staff about the measures taken and planned for the rehabilitation of the repatriates.
