According to the joint action plan approved by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Defense for the year 2023, the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva and staff of the Office visited a military unit which locates in the liberated region.
During the visit, firstly, the monument complex that was established in memory of the martyrs was visited, flowers were placed in front of it, and the martyrs' memory was remembered.
The Ombudsman and the employees monitored the conditions established for military staff and visited the military dormitory, medical unit, dining hall, and other objects that do not constitute a military secret in the territory of the military unit.
S. Aliyeva wrote her sincere remarks in the "Memorial book" of the military unit. The Commissioner was provided with information about the military unit, as well as the human rights protection measures implemented and the moral and psychological conditions of military personnel.
Later, the Commissioner made a speech on the protection of military personnel's rights.
S. Aliyeva and the employees of the Ombudsman Office had lunch with the military unit's personnel, listened to their complaints, and talked with them individually.
In the end, the Ombudsman presented gifts to a group of military personnel who had distinguished themselves in military service, wished them success in their service, and posed for a photo with the military unit's personnel.
