The Ombudsman Participated in the Voting Process During the Early Parliamentary Elections

The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, participated in the voting process at Polling Station No. 13 of the 23rd Nasimi-Sabail Electoral District.

After voting, the Ombudsman gave an interview to journalists. Sabina Aliyeva provided information about the activities carried out by the Ombudsman Office in the lead-up to the early parliamentary elections. She noted that, in collaboration with the Central Election Commission, her Office organized a series of awareness-raising events on "Ensuring Citizens' Electoral Rights" in Baku, Ganja, Sheki, Masalli, Quba, and Nakhchivan. She also mentioned that monitoring of the election preparation status was conducted, including in the liberated territories.

The Ombudsman reported that observations were conducted at polling stations across the entire country, including those in the liberated territories. She noted that necessary steps were taken to ensure the organization of the election process and the free participation of voters at all polling stations. To enable voters with disabilities to express their will independently, ramps were installed at several polling stations, and ballots printed in Braille were provided for visually impaired voters at the polling stations.

S. Aliyeva also mentioned that, based on positive experiences from previous years, the Ombudsman, staff members of the Office, and regional centers, including the Ombudsman Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, conducted independent observations as election monitors carried out on their own initiative. This included polling stations established in military units, penitentiary institutions, and other closed facilities.

Detailed information about the progress of the elections will be provided to the public.
