Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has been elected as the Vice President of the Asian Ombudsman Association

Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been elected as the Vice President of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) during the 17th General Assembly of the Association held in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan.

During her speech at the assembly, S. Aliyeva thanked to the members of the Association for the trust placed in her by electing her to the position of Vice President. 

She emphasized that the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) has taken significant steps in ensuring more effective protection of human rights on the Asian continent, upholding respect for international legal norms and principles. Furthermore, she highlighted the role played by ombudsman institutions united under common values and principles in both the protection and promotion of human rights.

One of the key topics touched upon by the Azerbaijani Ombudsman in her speech was the successful dialogue and networking platform established by the AOA among ombudsman institutions. She noted that this association ctreates new values and principles in the protection and promotion of human rights.

Sabina Aliyeva concluded her speech by inviting AOA members to share their pioneering experiences in the protection of human rights and to support each other in improving their activities.
