International Forum participants observed the process of mine clearance in Aghdam

The participants of the International Baku Forum of Ombudsmen observed the mine clearance process in the Sarijali village of Aghdam district. 

They were informed about the demining activities conducted by ANAMA in the liberated territories.

In addition, participants were informed that during about 30 years of occupation, thousands of people, including women and children, became victims of landmines.

It was highlighted that the buried mines hinder the ongoing construction and restoration efforts in the region, as well as the safe return of former IDPs to their homes.
