The Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva held a meeting with the Independent Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mrs. Ghada Hameed Habib, within the framework of the International Baku Forum of Ombudsmen.
During the meeting, the importance of joint action in protecting effectively human rights and freedoms, as well as a number of issues of interest to the parties, was discussed.
Then, the signing ceremony of the MoU was held between the Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan and the Independent Ombudsman Institution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The main purpose of the MoU is to strengthen the existing relations between the institutions in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms, to organize joint training and research, to exchange information and carry out public awareness in areas of mutual interest, as well as to cooperate in other areas.
The Ombudsman noted that the Memorandum signed between the ombuds institutions of Azerbaijan and Bahrain will facilitate further strengthening of cooperation and more effective protection of human rights and freedoms between the institutions of both countries.
