The Ombudsman participated in a COP29 side event on “Leveraging Human Rights Frameworks to drive inclusive Global Goal on Adaptation and its implementation in Africa”

The Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, participated in a COP29 side event jointly organized by the National NGO Forum and Pan-Africa Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) on the theme “Leveraging Human Rights Frameworks to drive inclusive Global Goal on Adaptation and its implementation in Africa”. 

The Ombudsman, in her speech, emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperation of regional networks of NHRIs. 

The Commissioner also proposed recommendations for promoting human rights approaches to reduce climate change effects and joining efforts for strengthening regional and global cooperation in this field.
