The Ombudsman’s Representative participated in the conference dedicated to the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women

A conference entitled "Let's stand in solidarity for a green world, let's say no to violence against women!" was organized by the "EMEDIA GROUP" Media Organization at the Atatürk Center, dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The representatives of various state and private institutions, parliamentarians, and NGOs took part in the event. Ayten Tarverdiyeva, Head of the Unit within the Department for Cooperation with International and Civil Society Organizations of the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan, spoke at the event, providing information about the Ombudsman's activities to protect the rights of vulnerable groups of the population, including women.

She said that the Ombudsman always focuses on the issue of ensuring women's rights, addressing problems faced by women in education and healthcare, eliminating gender-based stereotypes, and protecting the position of women in public life are the focus of the  attention.

The developments achieved in the field of gender policy at the national level, were discussed, and the importance of strengthening the fight against gender inequality was emphasized.
