The Ombudsman’s North Regional Center held an awareness-raising event dedicated to the 10th of December - International Human Rights Day, with the participation of public representatives in the village of Nugadi I, in the Guba district.
First, the participants paid tribute with a minute of silence to the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, the Great Leader - Heydar Aliyev, and our martyrs, who had fallen for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan.
Greeting the participants on behalf of Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsman, Bahruz Efendiyev, the head of the Regional Center, congratulated them on the 10th of December - International Human Rights Day.
He spoke about the UDHR, adopted by the UNGA on December 10, 1948, and that since 1950, December 10 has been annually celebrated as a Human Rights Day. It was noted that this document, which defines the norms for human rights that all states must adhere to, has been signed by the majority of them. Having restored its state independence, Azerbaijan has chosen the path of building a democratic, legal, secular state and has joined the UDHR and other international conventions.
