The Ombudsman’s West Regional Center held a legal awareness event in the Gadabay district

The Ombudsman’s West Regional Center and the Gadabay District Executive Power jointly organized a legal-awareness event on the topic of “Combating Domestic Violence (DV) and Human Trafficking", which was held in Gadabay city.

The active young people from the Gadabay District Police Department, and the Youth and Sports Department took part in the event. 

The Head of the Regional Center, Sabuhi Abbasov, noted that preventive measures in this area are one of the main priorities in order to achieve a long-term solution to the problems of DV and human trafficking and their consequences. He said that the Ombudsman Institution regularly carries out awareness-raising activities for various population groups to prevent violence and promote the fight against human trafficking.

The participants were explained by Sabuhi Abbasov about the provisions of the laws of "On Prevention of Domestic Violence" and "On Combating Human Trafficking," as well as the legal and psychological aspects of domestic violence and the fight against human trafficking. 

The questions of the participants were answered. At the end, booklets on the topic were distributed to them.
