
The Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation.
Before the signing ceremony, a minute of silence was observed in memory of those who lost their lives in the plane crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines.
The Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, during her speech, said that Ombudsman Office closely cooperates with higher education institutions. As part of this cooperation, graduate and master's students of the Academy had internships and scientific research at the institution. Furthermore, she underlined the fact that some staff members of the Office to date have educated at various levels at the Academy, as well as being involved in additional education.
The Ombudsman said that the MoU facilitates further strengthening cooperation between the two institutions and greater accomplishments in the formation of human rights specialists and increasing the number of scientific works in the relevant field.
Rector of the Academy, academician Urkhan Alakbarov, spoke about "Innovative public administration concept of the country’s President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev: results and prospects." He noted that as a result of the comprehensive measures implemented in the field of public administration, Azerbaijan is continuously developing and has achieved high indicators in this area.
Afterwards, the Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, and the Rector of the Academy, Urkhan Alakbarov, signed a MoU on cooperation.
The main purpose of the MoU is to further expand relations between the two institutions and to develop cooperation in the promotion, education, and implementation of human rights.
