The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, voted at polling station No. 13 of the Nasimi-Sabail constituency No. 23.
Following the voting, the Ombudsman spoke with reporters and gave them detailed info about the measures undertaken by the Ombudsman Office during the run-up to the municipal elections.
The Ombudsman said that observations were conducted at the polling stations established in our country and that necessary steps were undertaken to ensure that the election processes are well-organized and that voters can freely cast their ballots at all polling stations. She also noted that a number of polling stations were provided with ramps to ensure that persons with disabilities can, without any hindrance, express their will.
Sabina Aliyeva noted that considering the previous good practices, the Ombudsman, staff of her Office, regional centers, as well as the Ombudsman Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, independently observe the municipal elections at all polling stations, including those set up in military units, penitentiary institutions, and other closed institutions at their own initiative.
The public will be broadly updated about the progress of the elections.
