The Ombudsman led the defense of master dissertations held at the Law Faculty of the Baku State University (BSU)

The Azerbaijani Ombudsman led as the Chairperson of the specialized Scientific Council created for the defense of master's dissertations in the specialization of "Human Rights" at the Law Faculty of the Baku State University (BSU).

The dissertations written in both Azerbaijani and English languages, dedicated to current topics were carried out under the leadership of the professor-lecturers team at the UNESCO Chair on "Human Rights and Information Law" of the Law Faculty.

During the defense process held under the leadership of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Ph.D. in Law Sabina Aliyeva, five master students presented their dissertation works.

After the presentations, the Ombudsman and members of the Council asked questions to the master students, opinions and arguments have been read, and also practical issues related to the topic were discussed. Overall, the dissertation works were evaluated satisfactory. It was also emphasized that further collaboration should be expanded for the purpose of continuing scientific research on the protection of human rights.

S.Aliyeva congratulated each of students and wished them success in their future endeavors.

In conclusion, informative publications prepared in Azerbaijani and foreign languages, including the compilation of lectures "Introduction to Gender" and the document titled "An Overview of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights", prepared at the initiative of the Ombudsman, were presented to the Dean's Office and the Chair of the Law Faculty.
