Upon the initiative of the Sabail District Executive Authority and with the support of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event on the topic of "Gender Equality" was organized within the framework of the "Human Rights Month" at the Azerbaijan Finance and Economics College under the Azerbaijan State Economic University.

The event was attended by Lamiya Zeynalova, the Head of the Department for Protection of the Right to Information of the Ombudsman Office, Kamala Hashimova, the Deputy Head of the Sabail District Executive Authority, Elnara Aliyeva, the Head of the Sabail District Youth and Sports Department, Oruc Mammadov, the Director of the College, and teaching staff and students.

During her speech, L. Zeynalova highlighted that as part of the "Human Rights Month," announced by the Ombudsman, a series of events and discussions are being organized across the country, and extensive legal awareness and outreach activities are being conducted.

At the same time, it was brought to the attention of the event participants that special attention is given to ensuring gender equality in the activities of the Ombudsman, and in addition to the rights of other groups of the population, there are ongoing activities aimed at more effective protection and promotion of women's rights, including supporting their participation in the country's public and political life and ensuring equal opportunities between women and men.

It was noted that the Ombudsman has implemented a series of measures to enhance women's employment, expand their economic opportunities, and improve their access to social services, particularly in education and healthcare. Multiple complaints have been addressed to relevant authorities to resolve their issues, which has resulted in the consideration of their rights.

At the end, the college management and other participants thanked to the Ombudsman for the fruitful collaboration.
