The Ombudsman participated in the final stage of the 'Young Legal Defenders' Moot Court Competition Project

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, participated in the final stage of the simulated moot court “Young Law Defenders” organized jointly by the European Law Students Association (ELSA) Baku Public Union and Baku City Education Department.

The main goal of the final stage of the competition held in the courtroom of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan is to raise the legal knowledge of 10th and 11th-grade students, who wished to study law and to ensure them to get familiar with the court practice.

In her speech in the final stage of the competition, the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva said that the simulated moot court is an important platform for young lawyers, who want to acquire court practice. She brought to the attention the significance of imparting the students who want to become lawyers, legal knowledge, correctly understanding young children and young people their rights, and determining the forms of legal protection.

Outlining the very importance of legal educational activities carried out regularly by the staff of the Ombudsman Office in general secondary schools across the country in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education on the initiative of the Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva made recommendations to students and law students and wished them successes.
