Within the framework of the activity of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, and according to the action plans, the staff of the Ombudsman Office conducted a visit to the Higher Military School of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the military unit located in Narimanov district of Baku city.
At the time of the visit, medical units, dining halls, kitchens, food storages, soldier's dormitories, sanitation junctions, storage rooms for domestic utilities, and other areas of both facilities were monitored. The conditions created for the personnel, the installation of a payphone, which allows servicemen to communicate with their family members, and the quality of the patriotism spirit and ideology cultivated in young servicemen, identified during the conversation with them, have been studied on the spot.
During the visit, the personnel of the Higher Military School and the Military Unit, as well as the young soldiers, were informed about the powers of the Ombudsman and the work done in protecting the rights of military personnel, about the 24-hour 916 "Call Center", and their questions were answered.
In the end, relevant recommendations were made to the command of the military unit for more effective protection of the rights of military personnel, and for strengthening the sense of patriotism among the personnel.
