An awarding ceremony was held for a group of young people who completed their volunteer activities in the Ombudsman Office

The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, had a meeting with volunteer students from the Baku State University, the ADA University, and the Azerbaijan Language University.

During the meeting, the Ombudsman talked about the importance of the award ceremony, which coincided with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was stated that the youth policy, which was founded by the National Leader, aims to comprehensively develop the youth as one of the important directions of state policy. While outlining the opportunities created for young people in various fields, the Ombudsman spoke about the state programs implemented in the direction of training professional personnel that will ensure the sustainable development of our country and respond to global challenges.

Then, S. Aliyeva questioned each volunteer about the practical knowledge they had acquired as a result of their experience at the institution. During the meeting, which continued in the form of discussions, the Ombudsman listened to the opinions and wishes of young people and gave them recommendations regarding their further education and careers.

In the end, according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Voluntary Activity", the Ombudsman presented certificates to young people who successfully completed their contractual obligations as volunteers, for active participation in the volunteer program for the protection of human rights and freedoms.

It should be noted that the current Volunteering Program run by the Ombudsman Office started at the end of last year to use the potential of young people more effectively, inculcate professional habits in them, increase their practical knowledge, create conditions for the active participation of young people in all areas of society, and support the discovery of their creative and innovative potential. During the three-month-long volunteer program, the volunteers gained experience in various structural units of the Institution and became familiar with the activities of the Ombudsman in the protection and promotion of human rights.
