The Southern Regional Center of the Ombudsman held an event on March 31 - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis

The Ombudsman’s Southern Regional Center, in collaboration with the Centralized Library System of the Masalli District, held an event on the "Political and legal significance of the Decree dated March 26, 1998, "On the Genocide of Azerbaijanis," signed by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev," dedicated to the March 31- Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis.

At the event, the dear memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and victims and martyrs of March 31 - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis were commemorated with a minute's silence.

It was noted that after the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's return to power, it was possible to convey to the international community the terrible scale of the genocide and ethnic cleansing policies suffered by our people, investigate the crimes committed, and give a political and legal assessment of the events. In this regard, it was emphasized that the Decree "On the Genocide of Azerbaijanis," dated March 26, 1998, and signed by the National Leader, is of special importance.

During his speech, Z. Ismayilov brought to the attention of the event participants that every year on the eve of March 31, the Commissioner makes a statement on the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
