The Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, continues to convey the facts of violations of international humanitarian norms committed as a result of Armenia’s ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijanis based on hatred.
Obviously, during the First Karabakh War (1988–1994), Armenia committed numerious crimes of war and humanity against Azerbaijanis, who were taken captive and hostage.
This is confirmed once again by the discovery of mass graves in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the village of Edilli of Khojavand district, where the bodies of people killed with various severe forms of torture were insulted and buried in an inhuman manner.
In this regard, within the framework of the Ombudsman’s fact-finding mission, a specialized group consisting of staff members of the Ombudsman Office conducted an independent on-site investigation at the mass graves in Edilli village and prepared a report containing irrefutable facts collected during the monitoring.
The report provides full facts for taking effective international legal measures for bringing to international justice the persons represented in the political-military leadership of Armenia, who are guilty of committing numerous serious crimes based on ethnic hatred against Azerbaijanis.
At the end of the report, an appeal was made to relevant international organizations to clarify the fate of our compatriots who disappeared as a result of Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan, to hand over those who are still alive to our country, to provide accurate maps of the places of mass burial of the people who were killed in captivity and the mined areas, as well as to take a firm position on taking immediate measures to establish international legal responsibility in relation to the political-military leadership of Armenia, which is guilty of committing the crimes against Azerbaijanis.
The report is addressed to international organizations, ombudsmen of other countries, and the relevant international organizations working in the field of protection and promotion of human rights.
