An event "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and women rights in Azerbaijan" was held by the Ombudsperson

On the initiative of Sabina Aliyeva, Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and women's rights in Azerbaijan" dedicated to the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" was held on the eve of March 8 - International Women's Day, at the Office of the Ombudsperson.

First of all, S. Aliyeva congratulated the women employees of the Office on the occasion of the upcoming significant holiday and expressed her wishes. She talked about the traditions of value of and respect to women in the history of Azerbaijan and emphasized that the Azerbaijani woman is a mother, a caring wife, and a wise leader in public administration.

During her speech, S. Aliyeva said that the First Congress of Azerbaijan Women was organized in 1998 as an embodiment of the great value given to women by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev after his return to power, and that this event was one of the biggest events in the history of the modern women's movement of our country. It was added that with this congress, the foundation of the women's movement and their participation in various spheres of society and the state was laid in our country.

The Ombudsperson informed about the reforms carried out by the National Leader of our nation, Heydar Aliyev, for the democratic development of our country, the establishment of a legal state and civil society, and the protection of women's rights, which is an integral part of human rights.

It was noted that increasing attention to the active participation of women in the social and political life of our country, strengthening their social protection, promotion of women in public service taking into account the type of activity in all state institutions, as well as equal representation with men at the management level, is connected with the name of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the event, it was brought to attention that Azerbaijani women, as well as the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, has exceptional services in achieving unprecedented achievements in our country.
