The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva visited the Turkish Embassy in our country to express her condolences over the quake that killed and injured tens of thousands of people in the southern part of Turkiye. The Ombudsman wrote her heartfelt condolences in the book of mourning dedicated to the memory of the earthquake victims and prayed for God's mercy on the dead and healing to the injured.
During the meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkiye to our country, Cahit Bagçi, the Ombudsman expressed her deep regret for the large-scale destruction and numerous casualties caused by the devastating quake. S. Aliyeva emphasized that the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye are unbreakable, and this fact has been proven once again by the solidarity and support shown by Azerbaijan at both the state and people's levels after the tragic incident in Turkiye.
It should be noted that on the day of the earthquake, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman sent a letter of condolence to the Chief Ombudsman of Turkiye and the head of the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution. The heads of those institutions also expressed their gratitude for the attention shown in their turn.
Furthermore, the Ombudsman and the staff of the Institution provided financial support and necessary supplies to the victims of the earthquake in Turkiye for the purpose of humanitarian aid.
