Employees of the Ombudsman Office participated in an event dedicated to the social protection of housewives and international experience

"Transparency Azerbaijan" Anti-Corruption Public Union, the "Uluchay" Social-Economic Innovation Center Public Union, with the support of the EU and OHCHR organized a joint event "Monitoring and Protection of the Human Rights of Children and Vulnerable Women in Azerbaijan".

During the event dedicated to the  "Issues of Social Protection for Housewives in Azerbaijan and the Application of International Experience", the representatives from the Ombudsman Office, including Mugalib Mahmudov, Head of the Legal Education Unit and Aytan Tarverdiyeva, Head of the Unit for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Department for Cooperation with International and Civil Society Organizations, participated.

During the event, Mugalib Mahmudov spoke about the activities carried out in the field of promoting, protecting, and monitoring women's rights and ensuring gender equality. He highlighted the implementation of relevant national action plans and legislative improvements in this direction. In addition, it was given information about recomendations made for advancement of legislation and the increase of employment opportunities for women.

The organizers of the round-table shared their thoughts on the work carried out within the project, including the provision of legal assistance to women.
