The Regional Centers of the Ombudsman organized public awareness raising events in connection with February 2 - The Youth Day of Azerbaijan with the participation of various state institutions, young people and the broader community.
During these events, the memorial of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was visited and his memory was respectfully honored.
In the events, it was noted the significance of February 2 as Youth Day in Azerbaijan, established by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who is the founder of the state youth policy. It was under his initiative that the first independent forum of Azerbaijani youth was held on February 2, 1996. It was emphasized that various state institutions are implementing predefined priorities to effectively realize the knowledge, skills, and potential of the youth, enabling them to occupy a worthy place in society.
The State President Ilham Aliyev's decree on the approval of the 'Development Strategy for Azerbaijani Youth for 2015-2025' was also mentioned. This strategy outlines the development of youth potential, the utilization of this potential for the benefit of our country, and the formation of active citizenship in the new generation for the benefit of our nation.
It is emphasized that the active participation of our youth in governance today, their achievements in the development of civil society, their success in education, and their efforts to contribute to the development of our homeland are noted and appreciated.
Also, during the events, the heads of the Ombudsman's Regional Centers provided information about the Ombudsman's diverse activities in the field of youth rights and legal education initiatives in this regard.
It should be noted that during the significant historical date events held in the Astara district, the Regional Center demonstrated a film dedicated to the "February 2 - Youth Day" as well as jointly with the Heydar Aliyev Center and the State Art Gallery exhibited the works of the members of the "Painting" club.
On the same date, during the regional event dedicated to "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani Youth" in the Masalli district, Ziya Ismayilov, the head of the South Regional Center, was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts in educating youth on human rights and conducting effective activities.
