The Representative of the Ombudsman participated in a seminar in Turkistan city of Kazakhstan

International Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Turkish-Kazakh University held a seminar dedicated to the Concept of "Viewing the Turkish World - 2040" in Turkistan, Kazakhstan. At the seminar, the representatives of the Turkic states discussed the proposals regarding the assessment of various aspects of the Concept Document and the future of the Turkic world.

Ms. Lamiya Zeynalova, head of the Department of Protection of the Right to Access to Information at the Ombudsman's Office, gave extensive information about the important work done in protecting human rights in Azerbaijan and the activity of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan further strengthened the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world.

It was noted that to further strengthen relations in the field of human rights between the Turkish states the Association of Ombudsmen and NHRIs (TURKOMB) of the countries that are members of the Organization of Turkic States was established in 2022.

Ms. Zeynalova said that within the Association, the Azerbaijan Ombudsman Institution organized hybrid trainings, and discussions of prospects for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between ombudspersons are being continued.

It was also emphasized that within the framework of cooperation, at the invitation of Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, delegations of the Ombudsman Institute of Turkiye and Human Rights and Equality Institution conducted Fact-Finding Missions to investigate human rights violations committed by Armenia against the civilian population of Azerbaijan and that consequently, based on the collected evidence, the reports were prepared and submitted to international organizations.

In the end, it was again underlined that strengthening unity and solidarity in the Turkish world will contribute to the effective solution of regional and global problems, and the maintenance of peace and security. Also, a number of proposals were made for the development of cooperation and the improvement of activities.
