Under the instructions of the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, the National Preventive Group visited the Special Republic Boarding School No. 3 for children with limited health capacities.
The purpose of the visit conducted on the eve of the International Day of Sign Languages was to investigate the state of ensuring child rights, detention conditions, and treatment issues, as well as to follow up on the recommendations for elimination of the shortages revealed during the previous visits.
During the visit, all areas of the boarding facility, including the kitchen, canteen, and the medical unit, were checked and NPG members talked with the facility staff.
In the end, it was given information on the Electronic Book of the UN Child Rights Convention translated into Sign language with the support of the Ombudsman Office and Ombudsman’s “916” call center. The management of the facility was given particular recommendations on how to eliminate the existing shortages revealed during the monitoring process.
