Ombudsman spoke at the discussions within the OSCE-organized meeting in Warsaw

Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke at the discussions during the sessions held within the framework of the Meeting of Heads of National Human Rights Institutions from the OSCE Region hosted in Warsaw, Poland.

The Ombudsman noted that despite the numerous calls by the Azerbaijani side, no adequate measures were taken with regard to the aggressor country, and it led to the violation of the norms of international law, including international humanitarian law. It was pointed out that Azerbaijan ensured alone the fulfillment of four relevant UN resolutions which remained unimplemented for nearly 30 years, and thus restored its internationally recognized territorial integrity. The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan emphasized the inadmissibility of double standards in the application of international law norms.

Furthermore, a set of the Ombudsman's reports, statements, and appeals concerning the human rights violations committed against Azerbaijan by Armenia both during the Second Karabakh War and in the post-war period, as well as the print materials prepared by the Ombudsman Office on different human rights fields were distributed among the participants of the event.
