The 8th International Summer School on Migration, which was co-organized by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and Prague Process, kicked off in Guba city.
This one-week training program is held within the framework of the ICMPD-organized and EU-funded project on “Support to the Implementation of the Mobility Partnership with Azerbaijan (MOBILAZE-2)” in which the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan is also a partner.
Nearly 40 students and young specialists from Azerbaijan and Ukraine came together in this educational program that consists of research presentations and lectures on migration management prepared by professors of the leading higher education institutions of Great Britain, Austria, and the Netherlands, as well as seminars and intensive practical training.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the Summer School, the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Mr. Peter Michalko, and the ICMPD Regional Portfolio Manager for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Ms. Violeta Wagner spoke about the significance of the event.
The Head of the Unit for Work with Martyrs' Families and War Veterans at the Ombudsman Office Ms. Turan Jahangirova also spoke at the opening of the event and briefed the participants on the Azerbaijani Ombudsman's extensive activities aimed at the promotion and protection of the migrants' rights.
