The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the “Victory” Summer School organized by “ZEFER” (Victory) Public Union of Support to Martyrs’ Families with the support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations.
After greeting the participants of the ceremony, the Ombudsman expressed her high appreciation for the initiative of organizing the “Victory” Summer School. She noted the permanent state care for socio-legal protection of the martyrs’ families, war-disabled persons, veterans, and all other people affected by the war, in particular, the children.
Ms. Aliyeva noted that the Ombudsman Office has actively carried out measures to more effectively ensure human rights both during the war and in the post-war period. In this regard, she reiterated the assistance provided by psychologists and psychiatrists to the war veterans and members of martyrs’ families, including children, to help them improve their psychological status in the post-traumatic stress phase and ensure their adapting to normal life.
Ms. Aliyeva added that similar measures are currently continued as well and spoke about the extensive activities implemented in the field of protection and promotion of children’s rights.
The Ombudsman stressed the importance of continuing such kind of projects by covering all the regions of our country.
