The closing ceremony of the 6-month "Migration School-4" Project, which was implemented by the Regional Migration Training Center on Migration, was held in the State Migration Service (SMS).
During this event, the Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, the head of the SMS Mr. Vusal Huseynov, the head of the representative office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan Mr. Vladimir Gyorgiyev, the head of the representative office of the International Center for the Development of Migration Policy (ICDMP) in our country Ms. Seltanat Mammadova, the chairman of the Public Council under the SMS Mr. Azer Allahverenov made speeches and gave extensive information about the project's goals, importance, and work done. Also, they made suggestions for the sustainability of the project.
The Ombudsperson, who said that comprehensive measures have been taken under the leadership of the country’s President Mr. Ilham Aliyev for the formation and development of young specialists in our country, is a continuation of the youth policy founded and implemented by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. She noted the importance of training the staff of various stakeholders, who are in charge of migration issues with a view to further increasing their professional capacities. Ms. Aliyeva also emphasized that for this reason, the Ombudsman Institution is being cooperated with the SMS and other specialized international organizations, which turned into an effective platform.
Ms. Aliyeva also noted the importance of raising awareness of the conceptual approach to the process of managing migration flows, global migration trends, and the international legal protection system for refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable categories of migrants.
In the end, the participants who successfully completed the educational program of "Migration School-4" were awarded certificates and a commemorative photo was taken.
It should be noted that the Ombudsman Institution closely participated in the implementation of each of the four migration schools, and during the training organized within the project, the employees of the Institution acted as trainers and participants.
