The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan held an event on the occasion of June 15 - National Salvation Day.
Speaking at the event, Ombudsman congratulated the participants on National Salvation Day. She spoke about the importance of June 15, which is associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev- the architect of independent Azerbaijan.
The Ombudsman said that the return of the Great Leader to power for the second time at the request of the people played a major role in the history of independent Azerbaijan. S.Aliyeva noted that as a result of this historic step, stability was established in our country, and as a result of Heydar Aliyev's foresight and political skills, our country was saved from the threat of disintegration.
The Ombudsman stressed the traditions of independent statehood in Azerbaijan, which have been successfully preserved and developed since the country entered a new path of development in 1993. It was said that Azerbaijan became a center of power in the region, and current accomplishments and development of Azerbaijan were made possible with the political ideas of the Great Leader.
It was noted that many reforms were laid to strengthen national statehood and security, socio-economic development of the country, improve the regulatory framework, protect human rights and freedoms, and the first Constitution of independent Azerbaijan was adopted during the ruling of Heydar Aliyev.
In her speech, Ms. Aliyeva spoke about the attention and care attached by the Great Leader to human rights and human rights documents adopted on his initiative. It was noted that Heydar Aliyev had a special role in creating the Ombudsman Institution, which has been working towards the protection of human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan already for 20 years.
