A presentation ceremony for the “AutizmDERS” mobile app and a website of www.autizmders.az about children with autism spectrum was launched within the framework of the Project by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.
At the presentation event, attended by state agencies, non-governmental organizations, child development specialists, health providers, teachers, and parents, the Ombudsman Office was represented by Mr. Mugalib Mahmudov, head of the Legal Education Unit, and Ms. Aidan Talibova, a chief adviser at the Unit.
Speaking at the event, which coincided with the “Human Rights Month”, currently ongoing across the country, Mr. Mahmudov has extended greetings and congratulations on the 1 June – International Day for Protection of Children on behalf of the Ombudsperson Ms. Sabina Aliyeva.
It was noted that electronic resources presented have an essential role in increasing psychological, pedagogical, and social rehabilitation, education opportunities for, cognitive, perceptual, small and large motor, social, speech, and imitation skills in children with autism, as well as ensuring their cognitive development. It was also stressed the significance of supporting the close participation of parents in the rehabilitation process of this category of children and the sustainability of such projects, aimed at educating parents on how to help their children acquire necessary skills and what to do.
