During the Human Rights Month-long campaign, the Ganja Regional Center of the Ombudsman organized a range of events on the occasion of the 1 June -International Day for Protection of Children.
In this regard, the Regional Center held an event in Ganja Children’s Home. The Head of the Regional Center, Mr. Sabuhi Abbasov provided the participants with detailed information on the history of human rights, existing international legal frameworks, and protection mechanisms in the relevant field and the UN CRC, and the national Law on child rights. Furthermore, it was spoken about the importance of promoting children’s rights to prevent child maltreatment, and the Ombudsman’s activities addressing this problem.
Besides, the Regional Center also organized an awareness-raising event on the topic of “Preventing Child Marriage and Fighting against Harmful Practices” in the secondary school in the Sarkar village of Samukh district in cooperation with the Samukh district Executive Power Office and Ganja Region of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations. The event was attended by pupils and media outlets.
