Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman held events on the occasion of 1 June- International Day for Protection of Children

Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan held awareness-raising events under the theme “CRC is a progressive document in the protection of child rights” and “Effective protection of child rights as one of the activity directions of the Ombudsman ” in connection with the 1 June- International Day for Protection of Children. The events were held in secondary schools such as Jalilabad city secondary school No. 9, Salyan city Boarding Gymnasium of Integrated Education named after A. Safarov, Children’s Home of Mixed Type named after O. Mirzayev, and Special Boarding School for children with limited health capacities in Lankaran city. These events were attended by the management of schools, teaching staff, and pupils.

Head of the Regional Center Mr. Ziya Ismay?lov greeted and delivered the congratulations to the attendants on behalf of the Ombudsman, and underlined that the rights of children as members of the population groups are also in the focus of the Ombudsman.

During the events, the attendants were informed on the broad activity of the Ombudsman in protecting child rights, recommendations given for increasing the efficacy of the protection, international human rights protection mechanisms, including the child protection mechanisms as one of its pillars, as well as the unified 916 Call Center.

At the end of the event, discussions were organized.
