The Representative of the Ombudsman spoke at the II Republic Forum of Patient Organizations

According to the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva’s public message on the announcement of the human rights month-long campaign in Azerbaijan from 18 May to 18 June, a series of awareness-raising activities are organized across the country.

In support of the Ombudsman’s call, on 27 May 2022, the Association of Patient Organizations of Azerbaijan hosted the II Republic Forum of Patient Organizations.

In the opening ceremony, Mugalib Mahmudov, head of the Legal Education Unit at the Ombudsman Office, greeted the participants on behalf of the Ombudsman and conveyed his best wishes in their difficult but responsible activities to protect the right to health, one of the human rights of vital importance. 

It was said that the Ombudsman released a public call to all national authorities to join the 18 June- human rights month-long campaign, announced by the Commissioner to hold awareness activities on human rights. 

Further, the Forum participants were informed of the activity of the national ombuds institution towards the protection and promotion of patients’ rights, as well as improvement of the existing legislation, and human rights education.

At the end of the event, debates of state agencies were held and M. Mahmudov answered all questions raised.
