Ombudsman Office hosted an awareness-raising event entitled "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the protection of child rights

On the 99^th birth anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Ombudsman Office organized an awareness-raising event on “National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the protection of child rights” for the students of the school No. 146 in Baku named after Javanshir Rahimov.

Speaking at the event, the head of the Child Rights Protection Unit, Ms. Nigar Aghayeva provided information about the care for the children, the actions aimed at ensuring their rights and interests, shaping the legal basis for the state child policy during the tenure of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Then the lead advisor of the Child Rights Protection Unit, Mr. Azer Isali made a presentation and spoke about the rights and duties of children specified in the international tools and national legislative acts, as well as the protection of children from violence, discrimination, and abuse.

Furthermore, the participants were informed about the activity of the institution on the protection of child rights, the handling procedure of the appeals addressed to the Ombudsman, and the measures taken for their provision.

During the interactive event, the questions asked by the students were also answered.
