Events on "Raising awareness of children on their rights and duties" were organized in Sheki district

The Sheki Regional Center of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held educational events on “Raising awareness of children on their rights and duties” at secondary schools No.3 and No.5 in Sheki city. The teachers and students of the school attended the event.

Firstly, the head of the Sheki Regional Center, Mr. Parviz Mammadov conveyed the congratulations of the Ombudsman Ms. Sabina Aliyeva to the participants with regard to the Novruz holiday.

At the events, the participants were informed about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Rights of the Child, and other relevant legislative acts, as well as the aim and priority directions of the “2020-2030: Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Children”.

During the speech, it was highlighted that child rights protection is among the Ombudsman’s main activity directions, and the activities carried out in this area were mentioned.
