The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Ms. Sabina Aliyeva and the staff visited the Alley of Martyrs on 20 January- National Day of Mourning and honored the memory of our martyrs who died for the freedom of our country.
It should be noted that the Ombudsman’s Ganja, Sheki, Guba, and Jalilabad Regional Centers held a range of events together with Heydar Aliyev Centers, branches of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, and Youth Development centers in the districts. During the events, it was stressed the importance and legal basis for the establishment of legal assessment of this criminal action led to violation of fundamental and human rights and freedoms. Furthermore, it was also stressed that these events are one of the bright pages in the history of our people's struggle for independence.
The Ombudsman's statement addressed to the world community and influential international organizations on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was read at the event.
