Mentoring program implemented with the winner of the "Yüksəliş?" (Rise) Competition continues successfully

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva received the winner of the "Yüksəliş" (Rise) Competition Mentoring Program, Ms. Leman Gafarzade.  

During the meeting, the sides held a discussion on the development and enforcement of a project on the rights of people with disabilities (PWDs) and agreed upon the project goals, objectives, target group, institutions that can be involved as partners, and outcomes.   

Furthermore, Ms. Gafarzade obtained materials concerning the noted project and got acquainted with the Commissioner’s work in the field of rights of PWDs.

It should be noted in accordance with the work plan, several meetings took place within two months in the frame of the mentoring program, and cooperation was enforced to protect and promote human rights. For this reason, Ms. Gafarzade participated in monitoring conducted by the Ombudsman and her National Preventive Group.

In the course of the inspections in a correctional facility for juveniles and a penitentiary No. 4 for female convicts under the Ministry of Justice, Ms. Gafarzade gained practical experience in the field of protection and promotion of human rights.
