Ombudsman received the Officer-in-Charge of the UNDP Azerbaijan Team

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva received Mr. Sukhrob Khojimatov, Officer-in-Charge of the UNDP Azerbaijan Team.

During the meeting, the guest was informed about the Ombudsman's mandate, institutional structure, activities, as well as areas of cooperation with UN Treaty and Charter Bodies.

It was noted that the restoration of life in the liberated territories is one of the priorities. The Ombudsman, while speaking about the fact-finding missions carried out in those areas, stressed the importance of taking appropriate steps together with international organizations to return war-affected people to normal life.

The guest expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and said that he was interested in cooperation between the UN Development Program and the Ombudsman Institution.

The issues related to the joint cooperation in the field of protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, strengthening the capacity of the Ombudsman's Office and Regional Centers were discussed by the sides.
