Today, the delegation led by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, and Head of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination of the Republic of Bulgaria, Ms. Ana Jumaliyeva had on-site investigations in Aghdam and Tartar cities.
In the frame of international cooperation carried out in Aghdam, civilian settlements, social infrastructures, historic and religious monuments, destructed and looted by Armenia during the occupation period, were monitored.
Visiting Juma and Giyasli mosques in Aghdam, the delegation members got acquainted on the spot with the facts of destructions and desecration of religious monuments by Armenia in the period of occupation. Later, the buildings of the mausoleum of the Panahali Khan and Bread Museum were monitored and they were informed about their historical background and deliberate destruction by Armenia during the occupation period. Furthermore, the Alley of Martyrs in Aghdam was also visited.
Afterward, the delegation continued its on-site investigations in Tartar city. The houses subjected to heavy artillery attacks during the Patriotic War last year were also monitored. The graves destroyed as a result of the shelling of the Tartar city cemetery during this war were also visited.
In the end, the delegation was informed about and got familiarized with the missiles and other unexploded ordnance, which Armenia used to target civilian objects in Tartar at that time.
