As it is known, according to the Law of October 15, 2021, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of our independence, October 18 was declared the Day of Restoration of Independence. In this regard, Guba, Ganja, and Sheki Regional Centers of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan organized various events.
During the events, organized by the Ombudsman's Regional Centers in cooperation with the regional offices of various state agencies, where members of the families of martyrs, veterans, and members of the general public had participated, it was noted the importance of October 18 for the country. During the events, historical background about the date of gaining 30 years of independence was briefed. Furthermore, it was noted that our people restored their independence with the adoption of the Constitutional Act "On State Independence" of October 18, 1991, and that under the Constitutional Act, the Republic of Azerbaijan had been announced as the successor of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
In the speeches, it was spoken about the judicial and legal reforms implemented at the national level during the 30 years of independence, including in the field of human rights. It was also noted that as a result of the reforms successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army has become one of the world's strongest armies and our lands occupied by Armenia for 30 years have been liberated under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
During the event, detailed information was provided on the multifaceted activities of the Ombudsman's Office in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms.

The representative of the Ombudsman's Jalilabad Regional Center attended a meeting organized jointly by the District Executive Power and the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for the families of martyrs and veterans. During that event, the families of the martyrs and veterans were awarded medals according to the relevant Orders by President Ilham Aliyev.
