An international video conference was held on October 13 as part of the project "Support to the Implementation of the Displacement Partnership in Azerbaijan (MOBILAZE-2)".
The goal of the MOBILAZE-2 project is to develop an analysis of best practices in migration and border management, increase research and analysis skills, strengthen institutional capacity to provide integration services for migrants, including refugees, and increase training capacity on migration and border management, as well as to support awareness-raising on migration.
It should be noted that in the process of preparing the project covering 2021-2024, the proposals of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva were taken into account.
The event was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies and international experts, including Ms. Turan Jahangirova, the head of the sector of the Ombudsman Office. Extensive presentations on the main features of migration policy and management in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine were made during the online conference.
During the event issues related to cooperation were discussed. In the end, it was noted that effectively organizing joint cooperation on this project, which meets new priorities in the migration field, is necessary.
