Representative of the Ombudsman Office delivered lecture during the seminar dedicated to the Constitution Day

Yasamal District Youth and Sports Department and Yasamal district branch of the New Azerbaijan Party held a seminar titled "The Constitution is the basis of democratization, civil society and the rule of law" dedicated to November 12 - Constitution Day.

Mr. Mugalib Mahmudov,Head of the Legal Education at the Ombudsman Office participated in this seminar.

During this seminar, Mr. Mahmudov delivered a lecture on the topic “Human and Civil Rights and Freedoms as Main Requirement of the Constitution”. He firstly greeted the participants on behalf of the Ombudsman and congratulated them upon the Constitution Day. 

It was said that human rights and freedoms, as well as the right to decent standard of living, firmly embedded in the Constitution, prepared under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev and adopted on 12 November of 1995, and by referendum, is a clear manifestation of the highest value given to the human person in our country.

The participants were informed about the activities of the Ombudsman Office in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, the main powers, which are granted by the Constitutional Law, as well as the work done to convey the truth about Azerbaijan to the world community during the Second Karabakh War.
