Ombudsman Office commemorated the martyrs on the eve of the Victory Day

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized different events on the eve of 8 November – Victory Day.

The martyrs were commemorated with a minute of silence during an event initially held at the Ombudsman Office. During her speech, the Ombudsman congratulated the staff upon the first Victory Day and said that this long-awaited historical event has a very special place in the calendar. Furthermore, she briefed the historical path of our country leading to victory, emphasizing the importance of constant respect and care for the families of martyrs, including their parents and children born after the war. During the event, a memorial gift was also presented to a staff member, who is a veteran of the Patriotic War.

Afterward, the Ombudsman and her staff visited II Alley of Honor and paid tribute to the memory of our hero martyrs who fell during the Second Karabakh War and Tovuz battles. Ms. Aliyeva listened to the poems recited by the schoolchildren participating in the ceremony there and gave them recommendations on how to grow up as patriotic youth and pass this history on to future generations.

Later, the staff of the Ombudsman Office visited the charity-based “Victory Fair” organized by the “YASHAT” Foundation, dedicated to the victory in the Patriotic War.

We pray God to bless all our martyrs who had fallen for the freedom and territorial integrity of our homeland, and we wish healing to our veterans!
