Next training was organized in the Regional Training Center on Migration

A training on "Combating Human Trafficking" was held at the Regional Training Center on Migration. During the event, the memory of the martyrs of the Second Karabakh War was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Mr. Vusal Huseynov, Head of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan and the staff of the Service, employees of Ministries of Internal and Foreign Affairs, as well as Ms. Turan Jahangirova, Head of the Unit at the Ombudsman Office took part in the training, organized to increase skills and knowledge about fighting against human trafficking.

The trainees were informed about review procedures of individual complaints relating to human trafficking, crime indicators, interpretation, legal aspects of punishment and execution principles, methods of preparing, submitting, and analyzing the relevant report in compliance with and national and international legal acts that our State bound by. They were also aware of ensuring the effective implementation of law-enforcement mechanisms relating to the fourth and NAP on Combatting Human Trafficking for 2020-2024 years during interactive discussions. Furthermore, views about proactive and active identification of victims of human trafficking, shelters, protection of victims and their shelter placement, restoration of the violated rights, features of rehabilitation and social reintegration, and other related issues were exchanged.

Mr. Vladimir Georgiev, Head of the IOM in Azerbaijan, Ms. Ersilia Apreda, IOM Project Officer, and Mr. Michael Dickerson, US Deputy Chief of Mission took part in the event, along with local experts specializing in migration and relocation. They stressed the importance of strengthening the fight against human trafficking at the national, regional, and global levels through the best practices and modern methodologies.  

In the end, the participants were awarded certificates.
