The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva attended the presentation ceremony of the “Road to Victory” Project in relation to the first anniversary of the Victory, organized by “Zəfər” (Victory) Public Union of Support to Families of Martyrs with the financial support of the Foundation for the Promotion of Moral Values at Baku Higher Oil School.
The presentation ceremony brought together academic staff and students, families of martyrs, veterans, as well as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of Azerbaijan Mr. Sayavush Heydarov, deputies, media outlets, and community members.
A documentary film “A Road to Victory” which was about the struggle of our people against Armenian occupant powers was demonstrated at the ceremony. Further, the winners of the essay competition “My Homeland is Azerbaijan!” were awarded.
Welcoming the participants, the rector of the Baku Higher Oil School Mr. Elmar Gasimov stressed that our victory opened a glorious page in the history of the Azerbaijani people, and stressed the importance of our youth protecting this victory at the cost of the blood of our martyrs.
The Head of the Zafar (Victory) Martyrs' Families' Support Public Union Ms. Sevinj Alizadeh said that the souls of all the heroes who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were happy, noting that each martyr had his own role and right in this struggle.
While speaking about our heroic history of the victory, a Vice Speaker of the Parliament Mr. Adil Aliyev called on our youth to follow the example of heroes.
The "Hero of the Patriotic War", martyr Jamal Ismayilov's mother Filara khanum said that all the martyrs were heroes and she was always proud of them.
The event was continued with a performance by an exemplary military band of the State Border Service.
