The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva held a meeting at the Ombudsman Office devoted to the first half of 2021 in order to assess the activities carried out in the field of protection of human and civil rights and freedoms and discuss future tasks.
The Ombudsman was reported on the work done in the field of human rights protection during the first six months of this year.
It was stated that during the reporting period, in order to restore the violated rights of various groups of the population, the necessary measures were taken to resolve applications and complaints with care and sensitivity, and visits were carried out to places where individuals could not leave on their own will. It was also informed that fact-finding missions were conducted to aware the world community of the grave consequences of the aggression of the Armenian armed forces against civilians and facilities in Azerbaijan during and after the Patriotic War, and reports, appeals, statements, and letters were sent to relevant international organizations.
At the end of the meeting, the Ombudsman gave relevant instructions to the heads of departments in order to organize more effective and efficient protection of human rights and freedoms.
