The TIHEK Delegation met with the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan

The delegation led by the Chairman of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey (TIHEK) Mr. Suleyman Arslan that is on an official visit to Azerbaijan upon the invitation of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, met with Mr.Farhad Abdullayev,  the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, it was noted that Turkey's political and moral support to Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War was highly appreciated. In addition, it was noted that large-scale work is being done to ensure the return of IDPs to the territories liberated.

Legal reforms implemented in Azerbaijan and areas of cooperation in the field of human rights were discussed.

In addition, it was noted that there are close relations between the Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan and TIHEK, and, the guests were informed about the establishment and activities of the Karabakh Observation Group, which consists of various specialized researchers.

It was stated that the visiting delegation will conduct joint investigations in the liberated territories and the war-affected residential areas.

In the end, discussions on the exchange of experience for more effective protection of human rights in the future were held, where the parties expressed mutual interest in the expansion of mutual cooperation.
