Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman held an event to combat drug abuse

On June 23, 2021, a videoconference was held by Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman and several entities in connection with June 26- International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. 

The participants of the event delivered speeches on the topic.

It was said that the Law "On Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors" dated June 18, 1999, was adopted to fight against drug addiction and drug trafficking in our country.

Furthermore, it was noted that after being elected a member of the Council of Europe in 2001, Azerbaijan has successfully continued its activities in this area as a part of European integration. The State also implemented a state program to combat drug abuse.

Afterward, the participants witnessed a virtual exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center dedicated to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
